   Jacopo Foroni (1825-1858) another short-lived composer of operas, but his time has come with the recent revival of this splendid work (marred by weaknesses in the libretto, they say, and where can we get access to the libretto?).

Greta Garbo looked more like the original Cristina, but young Helena Dix fills the stage with her presence and her powerful voice.
